The Five Yellow is one of the most feared afflictions brought by the flying stars. It causes all kinds of obstacles to manifest, disrupting the best laid plans and bringing misfortune, heartache and loss. In 2025, the Five Yellow flies to the Northeast.

This year’s Five Element Pagoda features the White Umbrella Goddess mantra on its base, with the Chinese couplet “Bringing peace and protection against harm”. The White Umbrella Goddess is a deity who manifests her power with her thousand heads, arms and legs; it is believed that just viewing her mantra protects against illness, disasters and spiritual harm, as well as bringing great auspiciousness.

The back of the amulet features the Heart Sutra mantra.
